About the show
Attention adventurers from across the universe, it’s time to pack your bags.
Checkpoint Universe is a new immersive theatre show for children aged 6-10 and their grownups.
Following an intergalactic climate emergency, families embark on a journey across the universe to planet Azuria. Along the way, they meet Lyra, a young refugee from the planet Goldora, forced to leave her home after repeated invasions threaten her people and their precious goldo trees. Carrying the last surviving goldo seed, Lyra sets out in search of safety and a place to belong.
As they encounter strange new worlds and unfamiliar customs, children discover the hopes and challenges of arriving somewhere new, and explore what it means to build a home while holding on to who we are.
Combining live performance, storytelling, puppetry and music, Checkpoint Universe explores migration, identity and community with imagination and care.
